I started making masks during spring break (I'm a performing arts teacher) so my family and friends would have what they needed to protect themselves during quarantine. Initially, I made about fifty. Spring break was extended and I made some more masks for neighbors, extended family and colleagues. Eventually school was cancelled, businesses were closed and COVID had arrived. I stopped counting how many masks I made after my 200th mask was sewn. As I continued to receive feedback from family and friends, I created a unique, hybrid mask with all the best features:
a POCKET to insert a filter (I use a paper towel in mine, but you can use a coffee filter, a hepa filter, a piece of quilt batting, etc.)
BENDABLE nose bridge seams - mask will mold to your nose (for safety purposes, nose bridge seams are NOT sewn into kid or tween masks)
EXPANDABLE pleat - mask will cover nose & mouth (no peek-a-boo moments!)
WASHABLE - reuse over and over again!
Double sided! Project Project masks have two fashion choices!
Project Protect masks can be purchased at The Burly Bear in Pinetop and Changing Hands Bookstores in Tempe and Phoenix. Check back for additional vendors, I'm working on more! If you can't wait for your mask, send an inquiry to firstname.lastname@example.org.
